We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal data of our commuters. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is collected, used, disclosed, and safeguarded when you use our platform.

We collect several categories of information to provide and optimize our route-matching services:

• Profile Information: Name, phone number, work or school email address, profile photograph, vehicle details (make, model, color, capacity), and commuter role preferences.
• Location Data & Commute Routes: Origin neighborhood, destination address, departure schedule tolerances, and real-time GPS telemetry during active matched trips.
• In-App Messages: Chat logs between matched group members sent via our encrypted messaging hub for trip coordination.
• Authentication & Device Telemetry: Device token, IP address, OS version, push notification tokens, and login logs handled via Supabase Auth.

3. Location Data & Privacy Controls

Location privacy is central to the design of ShareWay. Exact home addresses are never published to public match feeds. We employ safe fuzzy geofences to display approximate departure areas. Precise pickup locations are disclosed only to members of a group after mutual partnership acceptance.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

We utilize trusted third-party infrastructure providers to operate ShareWay securely:

• Google Maps Platform: Used for route distance calculations, ETA estimation, and mapping visualization.
• Supabase Inc.: Cloud database infrastructure, identity authentication, and row-level encrypted storage.
• Expo Push Notification Service: Delivers push notifications regarding trip status, arrival alerts, and messaging updates.

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide commuter services. You have the absolute right to delete your account and personal data at any time directly in the mobile app settings or by submitting an email to info.ShareWay@gmail.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data, route history, and profile records are permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days.
